Job Title: Welder
Location: Sheffield – on site
Salary: £39,873 + shift allowance
Please note that this role might include shift working
What you’ll be doing:
1. Conduct varied titanium welding tasks across a range of products
2. Perform within your scope of approvals and responsibilities, covering the full lifecycle of the build programme
3. Maintain positive and collaborative working relations with your team and your wider stakeholder group
4. Check your own work to ensure it meets the required standards
5. Raise any general problems around ways of working in a timely manner and to the appropriate person and comply with all new and existing policies, processes and standards
6. Responsible for the use and care of tools, consumables, and equipment, including using checks to ensure they are fit for purpose
7. Report any hazards, near misses and incidents in a timely manner in line with company procedures and implement corrective actions against SHE issues within the assembly area
Your skills and experience:
1. Understand and follow welding procedure specifications (WPS) and able to follow manufacturing instruction, to listen and follow verbal instructions
2. Highly skilled at welding exotic material (Titanium) with an understanding of cleanliness issues surrounding these types of material
3. Proficient at purging systems
4. Proficient at passing weld tests under Lloyds register supervision or welding inspector supervision, including plate butt, pipe butt, tang and slot & tee butt, in 1G & 3G positions
5. Able to use pneumatic tooling, Grinders, Drills etc. in accordance with HAVS regulations
6. Modern Apprentice trade papers or equivalent
7. Completed a ‘time served’ full Engineering Modern apprenticeship which has been formally certified by a national Awarding Organisation or formal qualification dependent on experience
