About The Role We’re seeking a visionary content leader with a passion for social and a drive to create significant growth through organic marketing efforts. In this dynamic role you will spearhead our content strategy, elevate our social media presence and position Motorway as the undisputed authority on, and destination for car ownership and selling. You’ll be at the forefront of transforming our content operation into a high-impact, always-on engine across a number of channels that connect with millions of car sellers and dealers. As a senior marketing expert you’ll have editorial ownership across organic channels - with priority focus on social platforms (Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube etc.) - while also inspiring effective content innovation and application across web, SEO, CRM, Partners and into paid brand and performance advertising. This is a unique opportunity for someone who can balance strategic vision with tactical execution to deliver contemporary and category-defining content. You’ll build and lead a high-performing team with the autonomy to experiment, push boundaries, and make a tangible impact on our brand and bottom line. What You’ll Do Reporting to the Marketing and Brand Director, you’ll be responsible for owning our organic content and social strategy to build our brand faster, attract more audiences and lower acquisition costs over time. This looks like: Strategic Content Leadership: Develop and execute a holistic content strategy that spans social, SEO, CRM, Comms and into paid channels to position Motorway as the definitive selling and buying platform. Have editorial ownership across all organic content to ensure a unified brand experience and narrative that increases engagement and acquisition. Partner with Brand, Creative, Growth and Product teams to integrate our tone of voice, proposition and key messages into high quality content from offsite to onsite, across the user journey. Identify and build a unique product comparison approach to differentiate Motorway and increase audience consideration. Social Media Scaling: Supercharge growth in social reach and engagement by identifying the right platform strategies, leveraging innovative formats as well as content creators to speak for our brand. Partner with the Head of Creative to drive publishing efficiencies and achieve always-on content delivery across more platforms, to more audiences. Cultivate a community of sellers and dealers who feel educated and championed, boosting repeat sales/purchases and referrals. Content Innovation & Optimisation: Establish an organic creative testing pipeline, experimenting with new content formats, and leveraging data and analytics to optimise performance. Develop evergreen content franchises for sustainable organic growth, reducing reliance on shorter-term campaigns and external partners longer term. Leverage personalised and data/AI-driven content programmes integrated with our product and tools to better meet audience and business needs. Collaborate with Brand and Growth teams to optimise user journeys and boost high-performing organic content in paid campaigns. Define and own KPIs for content and social performance, relentlessly tracking metrics such as reach, traffic, engagement, as well as keyword rankings to continuously refine our strategy and maximise ROI. Leadership & Collaboration: Build, mentor, and scale a content and social team, with future scope to expand into other verticals i.e. partnerships, influencer management. Collaborate closely with other marketing (e.g. Brand, Comms, Creative, Growth) and product teams to ensure a unified Motorway experience and narrative. Develop and implement processes and best practices for content development and distribution, with a focus on speed-to-market and results. What You’ll Bring Leadership experience in developing and executing content and social marketing, with a proven track record of driving organic growth (experience in tech and online marketplaces is a bonus, but not essential). A strong understanding of the digital media landscape, engagement tactics, growth strategies, and current content trends. Exceptional editorial taste and judgment in creating high impact content and social that performs cross-channel. A proactive and innovative approach, with a desire to experiment and stay ahead of industry practices. An analytical and problem-solving mindset, with a data-driven approach to content testing and measurement. Excellent communication and collaboration skills that mean you work seamlessly with other marketing and product teams, and engage at an Executive level. Experience leading and managing high-performing teams. You’re flexible and comfortable working in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
