Main duties of the job
The Pharmacy Technician (PT) will principally be involved in ensuring the correct ordering, storage, issuing, and dispensing of pharmaceutical items to patients, in accordance with current regulations.
The PT is Band 5 and will work within the requirements of the General Pharmaceutical Council and Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC), Single service (Ss), and Ministry of Defence (MOD) policies and guidelines.
Job responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to:
* To maintain the integrity and stock of the Dispensary and Pharmaceutical stores in accordance with current regulations and requirements.
* To dispense and issue prescriptions to patients in order to contribute to the Principle Medical Officers (PMOs) standards and objectives.
* Work in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) within the Dispensary and Medical Store.
* Ensure medical supplies and pharmaceuticals are stored in accordance with the manufacturers' recommendations and guidelines.

Registrations and Memberships
* Registration with GPhC (achieved via NVQ Level 3/BTEC Pharmaceutical science qualification, or grand-parenting).
* Please provide your membership registration number.
* You are required to be registered with the relevant professional body, as detailed in the advert, prior to submitting your application.
* Your application will not progress should you fail to provide a valid membership registration number.
Qualifications
* BTEC in Pharmaceutical Science or Equivalent NVQ Level III Pharmacy Services.
* Medicines Management Qualification such as drug history taking or medicines reconciliation.
* CPPE Primary Care Pathway or Equivalent.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
Salary: £29,970 to £36,483 a year, pro-rata for part time.
