Part Time Nurture Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel is looking for a patient, empathetic, and motivated Teaching Assistant to join a specialized nurture provision in Caerphilly. The successful candidate will provide dedicated 1:1 support to a Year 9 student with social and emotional needs.
About the department:
* The team have created a calm, safe space for pupils across the local authority who have complex emotional needs.
* Made up of a key stage 3 and 4 classroom and 2 breakout areas.
* Close knit friendly and welcoming team of Teaching Assistants and 2 Teachers.
* Looking for a skilled individual with personal or professional experience supporting children who have complex emotional trauma and struggle with school engagement.
* Separate provision for children who are unable to be in mainstream secondary school.
* Designed to reintegrate children back into secondary school settings whilst offering nurture support.
About the role:
* Monday to Friday (09:00am-12:00pm).
* Assisting a pupil on a 1:1 basis with their emotional needs, lifeskills and helping assist with the curriculum in classrooms.
* Working closely with a pupil with Autism, ADHD and emotional needs.
* Providing attentive and supportive emotional guidance while helping to strengthen their self-confidence.
* Supporting the teacher and classroom staff by managing challenging behaviour and identifying potential triggers before escalation.
About you:
* Compassionate, patient, and able to respond swiftly and effectively under pressure.
* Experience on a personal or professional level with additional needs (Autism and ADHD).
* Possess a solid educational background, capable of supporting literacy, numeracy, and various other subjects.
