Location: Kilmarnock Hours/Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hrs per week Position summary We are seeking a Solicitor with a proven track record in the field of Consumer Arrears and Civil Litigation. The successful candidate will have strong communication and negotiation skills and be able to work under minimal supervision. You will be IT literate with good business acumen and the ability to keep abreast of relevant changes in both the collections and legal industries. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Pro-actively manage defended or complex cases in order to resolve disputes, mitigate costs and protect the reputation of the company Reviewing non-moving cases within the pipeline and suggesting and implementing strategies to increase revenue/collections from them Ensure that all internal and external processing volumes & deadlines are managed and achieved, including issuing of claims, document requests, defences and enforcement activity Work with other stakeholders within the business (e.g. Operations, Decision Science, Strategy)to continuously improve Seek necessary advice from Legal Counsel and Compliance where appropriate in order to mitigate any risk Work with customers / legal representatives / third parties at all stages of our litigation process with the aim of achieving suitable outcomes through negotiation and, where necessary, enforcement Effective handling of Court Directions and Orders in a timely and effective manner Minimum Experience/Qualification Requirements Experience in the finance or consumer debt recovery sector preferable Qualified Solicitor with up to three years Post Qualified Experience(PQE) Ability to resolve issues and negotiate settlements without the need for legal action Qualified in both Scots & English Law Strong knowledge of Civil Litigation Procedures including Pre-Action Protocols Experience with rules and regulations relating to the Collections industry, particularly Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) PRA Group (UK) Ltd applies Equal Opportunities policy at all stages of recruitment and selection process.
