Job Description
Qualified Social Worker, Bolton Council, Looked After Children Team - Must be a Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children's Social Work team.
The responsibilities will include:
1. This is a busy and dynamic team offering a statutory service to Looked After Children, Care Leavers and Homeless Young People, some of whom will have very complex needs. We work with Young People from the age of 16 potentially up to 25 helping them to develop their Pathway into independence.
2. With outstanding communication skills and the ability to engage with resistant Young People, you will be committed to improving life chances and outcomes for Care Leavers. You must have excellent skills in assessment, analysis and planning as well as being comfortable in managing complex and challenging needs, risks and behaviours.
3. You should understand the disadvantage faced by Care Leavers and be able to work creatively and collaboratively to redress this balance.
4. This can be demanding but rewarding work. We have a strong teamwork ethos with frequent team meetings. You can expect regular formal supervision, easy access to informal support and excellent in-house training.
5. Liaise with other professionals.
6. 22.2 hours per week (flexible by negotiation).
7. 3 month Temporary Contract.
8. Start date subject to DBS and reference clearance.

The successful candidate will need to hold a DipSW or equivalent, must be registered with the HCPC, have a current DBS and be a car driver.
