Job Title: Occupational Therapist - Acute Care

Rate: Up to £31 per hour
The Cardiff Council is looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality occupational therapy services to adult inpatients in an acute care setting, ensuring effective interventions and optimal patient outcomes.
What will your responsibilities be?
In this role, you will conduct detailed assessments of adult inpatients, develop and implement individualized treatment plans, and facilitate early discharge planning while coordinating with the multidisciplinary team (MDT). You will provide therapeutic interventions to support recovery and independence, prioritize your workload, and adapt to changing priorities. Collaborating with healthcare professionals to manage acutely unwell patients is a key part of your role. Additionally, you will maintain accurate and timely records and stay informed about best practices in acute care occupational therapy.

Qualifications and Experiences:
To be successful in this role, you will need a degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy and registration with the Health Care Professionals Council (HCPC). Experience in adult inpatient occupational therapy, preferably in acute care settings, is essential. You should possess strong assessment and treatment planning skills, excellent organizational and prioritization abilities, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team (MDT). Additionally, a valid driving licence and access to a vehicle are required, along with a willingness to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
