Commercial and Contracts Project Manager (Client side – Construction Project)
~6 month contract based in North Cardiff (CF14), initially required to work on site 5 days/week for the first month and 3 days/week for the remainder of the contract.
~ PAYE Rate: up to £24.Certain Advantage are recruiting on behalf of a public sector client for a Project Manager with a background managing commercial and contracts activities. This is a fantastic opportunity to support a large construction Project through the Construction and Commissioning Phase of an important new facility.
You will be responsible for supporting the management of the Project Agreement and its range of obligations, providing regular monitoring information. As Commercial and Contracts Project Manager you will also be responsible for refining and improving project management documentation and processes, and ensuring they are best utilised and updated in a timely manner.
To succeed in this role you will need to establish credibility with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and have the required strategic, planning and performance skills to support the delivery of the Projects.
Working with Workstream Leads to manage the change protocol and processes that are required under the Project Agreement (PA)
Work with Workstream Leads to identify resource and contractual requirements, and with the Procurement Team to procure the services, works and technical support required to deliver the Project.
Work with the Project Finance Team and Procurement Team to understand and implement the full Procure-to-Pay process.
Manage and monitor a portfolio of supplier and contracts within the Project, including working with the Workstream Leads to ensure the successful management of contracts, ensuring suppliers provide the required deliverables, to the required standard of quality and within the specified constraints of time and cost. This will include holding regular Contract Management meetings with suppliers.
Produce and maintain a programme plan to support the delivery of procurement and contract management.
Project manage the work of the Commercial Activity Group, including managing the Project Agreement ‘Deal Diary’ and working with the Core Project Team to report progress.
Procurement projects
Planning and managing projects with successful delivery within time and cost
Demonstrable success in building, leading, motivating, managing and developing project teams
Proven track record of successfully introducing service improvement and management of significant organisational change in a complex environment
Knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling projects e.g. Thorough understanding of full project lifecycle
Managing multiple concurrent projects.
Legal knowledge and understanding of contractual matters.
Knowledge of financial and management accounting procedures and techniques
Experience of the Oracle payment system
