Restaurant Supervisor Job Description
At Hotel Cafe Royal, we're seeking a highly skilled Restaurant Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our hospitality team, you'll be responsible for delivering exceptional service and creating memorable experiences for our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist the Restaurant Manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations, ensuring efficiency and exceptional service delivery.
* Supervise and support a team of servers, baristas, and bartenders, maintaining high standards of service and presentation.
* Lead by example, embodying the Cakes & Bubbles philosophy of luxury, creativity, and attention to detail.
* Train and mentor team members, conducting onboarding for new team members and providing continuous training, including updates on new menu items and seasonal offerings.
* Maintain in-depth knowledge of the menu, including signature desserts, cocktails, teas, and coffees, to answer guest questions and provide expert recommendations.
* Support the Restaurant Manager in ensuring that health and safety, as well as food hygiene standards, are consistently met.
* Collaborate with kitchen staff and bar team to ensure timely service, particularly during peak hours and special events.
* Assist with inventory checks, ordering, and managing stock to ensure smooth and uninterrupted service.
* Handle guest queries, special requests, and any service recovery situations in a professional and gracious manner.
* Actively engage with guests, delivering a warm welcome and fostering relationships to encourage repeat visits.
* Assist in maintaining a positive and motivating work environment, encouraging teamwork and communication among the team.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Restaurant Supervisor or Senior Waiter in a luxury hospitality or fine dining setting.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, train, and motivate a team to deliver high standards of service.
* A passion for luxury hospitality and an in-depth understanding of fine desserts, champagne, and specialty beverages.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to providing memorable guest experiences.
* Knowledge of food and beverage health and safety standards.
* Flexible availability to work shifts, including weekends and holidays, to support the needs of the restaurant.
* Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and work efficiently under pressure.
* Proficiency in POS systems and experience with order management software.
