Working hours may vary during school holidays.Grade: 7 Actual salary based on 30 hours £20,013-£21,046Start date: ASAPJob OverviewAn exciting opportunity has arisen at Westfield Infant School for a talented, loyal and motivated Premises Officer to join our team, who is keen to make a difference. The focus of the role is to ensure the maintenance, security and cleanliness of the school’s buildings and grounds is of a high standard, so that all pupils, staff and users have a safe and well-maintained environment to work in and learn effectively. We would like to recruit an individual who has previous experience and skills and can carry out minor repairs and redecoration when needed. As a key member of our school you will become a valued member of our whole school team.The role is varied however, the successful candidate will be expected each morning to unlock the premises and carry out a site walk and secure the building and site at the end of each day. You will welcome our families and be present on the school gates at the start and end of the school day. The role will also include being responsible for general site maintenance, using a varied skillset to carry out reactive and planned maintenance work, cleaning, refilling consumables, carrying out compliance checks and escorting sub-contractors as required. The job description will provide more detailed information regarding the expected duties.The ideal person will be able to demonstrate a high standard of premises management and customer care, as well as being a team player. Good communication skills are key, as well as being well organised and having an awareness of Health and Safety legislation and compliance (e.g. COSHH, Water Hygiene, Risk Assessments) and be able to meet deadlines.Job requirements A good level of literacy and numeracy Good standard of maintenance and DIY experience with an understanding of health and safety parameters Experience of working within an operational environment to provide day-to-day site and maintenance support Ability to prioritise and plan own workloadGood communication (both spoken and written) and interpersonal skills Why join us?
