What skills and experience we're looking for
Job Purpose:
To work collaboratively with the classroom teacher with their responsibility for the development and education of children, including those with special physical, emotional and educational needs, by utilising detailed knowledge and specialist skills in specialist discipline being fully involved in all stages of the planning cycle.
This role will be supervised by the classroom teacher, a designated supervisor, and/or SENDCo.
On a daily basis you will:
• Support pupils in accessing and understanding lesson objectives.
• Promote the school's ethos of all children being able to succeed.
• Support positive behaviour and positive relationships with their peers.
• Work with children to develop their language skills.
• Work with small groups or children or 1:1 to build skills and learning within the Early Years Curriculum.
• Direct group activities within and away from the classroom including implementing 'catch up' programmes with targeted groups.
• Assist in the planning, preparation and clearing away of resources necessary for the delivery of the curriculum.
• Participate in whole school activities.
• Assist with the preparation and mounting of display materials.
• To undertake designated administrative tasks, to support teaching and learning.
