We are looking for a Commissioning Manager.
Reporting to the Head of Commissioning, the role will include, but is not exclusive to:
1. Lead and manage data centre type projects (travel required for the role ~ to be discussed at interview).
2. Lead and manage the commissioning process and supervise on-site maintenance projects.
3. Commissioning of Switchgear without compromising quality, health, safety, or the environment.
4. Efficiently manage projects to maximise the profits of the Company.
5. Supervise sub-contractors to ensure their tasks are approved and controlled as required.
6. Review and manage sub-contractor works to ensure compliance with company requirements.
7. Monitor changes to identify and tackle new risk management challenges.
8. Eliminate defects, unsafe acts/conditions, and pollution by targeting "Zero Harm".
9. Conform to and always comply with reasonable directions and regulations of the Company.
10. Manage all day-to-day on-site commissioning operations.
11. Be aware of the quality, health, safety, and environmental (QHSE) matters related to the works in hand and promote QHSE compliance requirements.
12. Carry out toolbox talks and task briefings as required.
13. Report commissioning progress on all activities both internally and externally.
14. Report any delays or issues that may arise from the commissioning process.
15. Attend commissioning meetings and report on progress.
16. Complete RAMS and ensure they’re communicated, understood, acknowledged, and followed.
17. Ensure Permit to Work systems are implemented effectively and correctly.
18. Compile testing and commissioning documentation, including verifying and signing off all results.
19. Monitor the correct completion of site activities.
20. Ensure the safety and welfare of site operatives and other individuals affected by the works in hand.
21. Ensure PPE is used correctly and is in good condition.
22. Ensure work equipment is used correctly and is in good working order; report near misses and accidents.
23. Reduce avoidable site revisits.
24. Help improve operatives' knowledge and training.
25. Highlight and report areas of concern.
26. Liaise with clients.
27. Work at AFS headquarters in Sutton-in-Ashfield as required.
You will be required to undertake and supervise all aspects of work related to commissioning works undertaken by the Company in accordance with the Company’s documented safe system of work, including:
1. Completing records and certificates for handover to clients.
2. Carrying out witness testing and providing associated documentation as required.
3. Providing progress reports as necessary regarding project status.
4. Efficiently supervise and control site works to maximise the profits of the Company without compromising quality, health, safety, and environmental requirements.
5. Report directly to the Head of Commissioning.
6. Comply with the proper and reasonable directions of the Company at all times.
7. Request customer feedback.
8. Ensure weekly reports are sent to management.
Hours: 07:00 – 17:00 on site Monday to Friday with some weekends as required. Hours as required to complete the work.
Essential Qualifications:
1. NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Discipline
2. SSSTS
The successful candidate must have:
1. Full UK Driving Licence
2. Valid Passport
