The post holder will be expected to provide specialist knowledge and care to patients of the Lung Cancer Screening programme supported by a national protocol and training. People will be offered a Low Radiation Dose Computed Tomography (LDCT) scan (chest scan) if appropriate, through a mobile unit.
In addition to this role the successful candidate will also be given training to work in our new Urgent Lung Cancer Assessment (ULCA) service which involves nurse triage of symptomatic patients. This is to support and improve the current two week wait and meet the faster diagnostic standard for lung cancer.
