Hours of Work: You will be expected to work a minimum of 37.5 hours per week, excluding lunch breaks. The role will include some matchdays and occasional evening and weekend unsociable hours when required.25 days annual leave + bank holidays

Overall purpose of the Job:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Bid Writer to join our team. This role involves developing and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy to secure funds through grants,
bids, and proposals. Key responsibilities include being a proactive
member of the Senior Leadership Team, identifying funding
opportunities and crafting compelling grant applications. In this role,
you will collaborate with the Executive Team, project staff and key
stakeholders to develop persuasive applications, presentations and
you will also support with reporting on fundraising activities to meet
the organisation’s financial needs.
The ideal candidate will possess exceptional written and verbal
communication skills, strong research and analytical abilities and a
proven track record of successful fundraising for a charity or
Community Interest Company.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Work closely with the Senior Management Team to implement the
organisation’s fundraising strategy and achieve annual activity and
income targets.
Proactively identify, research and prioritise new opportunities that
are strong funding prospects for BRCT.
Liaise and work with members of BRCT to create outcome focus
groups to gain insight into the specific needs of each programme
and match these needs to funding opportunities.
Take a hands-on role in developing and writing well-researched,
compelling and creative applications to grant funders and
foundations to achieve agreed financial targets.
Develop excellent relationships with funders and partners,
delivering excellent stewardship, including the creation of engaging
impact reports and project feedback.
Ensure regulatory legal compliance and best practice.
Maintain excellent record keeping.
Keep up to date with sector knowledge regarding fundraising
techniques, resources and donor trends.
Gain a deep understanding of potential funding partners’ needs,
tender requirements, business operations and where their needs
can be met by BRCT.
Ensure all proposals are proofread, meet tender programme
requirements and align with BRCT’s bid management standards.
Identify and engage with expert contributors and associates as
necessary.
Work with BRCT Executive members to determine bid writing
strategies and manage bid timetables, deadlines, and necessary
meetings effectively to ensure timely compelling submissions.
Manage bid submission process as necessary.
Knowledge and Experience:
Experience raising funds in a charitable setting.
Outstanding knowledge of the grant/bid writing process.
Proven track record of successful grant writing and fundraising
(preferably for charities/CIC's).
Knowledge of the non-profit sector and fundraising best practices.
Financial management and generally accepted accounting principles.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 GCSEs including English and Maths of a Grade C or above (or equivalent)
A-levels (or equivalent).
