Principle Engineering Manager
Location: Valduc, France (45 mins outside of Dijon)
Package: £58,500 - £85,000 (depending on your suitability, qualifications, and level of experience)
The working pattern for EPURE is 5 days a week, whilst at AWE (UK) the working pattern is based on a nine-day fortnight with every other Friday off.

The AWE is embarking on a Replacement Nuclear Warhead programme to ensure the UK’s continuous at-sea deterrent. This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to be part of such an important mission. This significant role will lead our maintenance and reliability teams across multiple projects in key technology centres.
We are recruiting for a Principle Engineering Manager to join our team at the EPURE facility in Dijon, France. This role supports a joint UK/French Radiographic and Hydrodynamics facility located 45 minutes from Dijon. The position is permanent, based in France, for up to 5 years, supporting the engineering team.
Who are we looking for?
Principle Engineering Managers will be responsible for:
* Participating in the facility Asset Change Board, making decisions on changes and recognizing their impact.
* Managing functions and tasks to meet professional standards, performance, and integrity of work, and reporting information to support business objectives.
* Ensuring compliance with Company Assurance Environment, Safety, Health, and Quality (ESH&Q) and statutory requirements.
* Supporting the Department Group Leader in resource allocation and addressing areas of concern.
* Implementing improvements based on operational experience, UK best practices, and standards from peer nuclear and explosive licensed organizations.
* Promoting a culture of zero accidents or incidents related to occupational safety, security, health, and environmental issues.
* Providing leadership to optimize engineering service delivery.
* Setting clear task objectives and overseeing their completion.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
* Degree qualification in an engineering discipline, preferably Chartered, or proven experience in a similar environment.
* Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams through the engineering lifecycle.
Desirable:
* Ability to communicate technical complexities to diverse stakeholders.
* Excellent interpersonal, engagement, and presentation skills.
* Experience delivering engineering capabilities in manufacturing or research environments.
* Knowledge of applicable legislation and standards related to safety in engineering.
