About Our Client
The client is a medium to large FMCG importer of foods based in NW London.
Job Description
The key responsibilities will include
3. To organise all overseas transport and deal with any queries relating to this.
4. To obtain price quotes for all shipments and ensure the most competitive and effective solution is used.
5. To maintain regular meetings with freight forwarders and make sure that we get the best customer service possible.
6. To keep the transport tender up to date.
7. To review all transport invoices and pass them to the accounts department in a timely manner.
8. To resolve any pricing queries or complaints and escalate if necessary.
9. To check all customs clearance paperwork to ensure the right amount of duty has been paid and raise any issues with the transport companies if necessary.
10. To complete all declarations (customs clearance for goods going into NI)
11. To maintain the Control and Carriers spreadsheet with the help of the Logistics Stock Controller.
12. To analyse transport rates on a regular basis and flag up any variances to the rest of the team and the Business Analysis team.
13. To ensure commodity codes and duty rates are reviewed on a quarterly basis and research commodity codes for new lines.
