An exciting opportunity for an experienced and proactive individual to join our team as an ERP Functional Support Team Leader. The role is to lead an essential team responsible for ensuring the effective operational delivery of the councils ERP system as part of a transactional shared service on behalf of both Cheshire West and Chester and Cheshire East Councils.

This role is to provide maternity cover as a team leader responsible for supporting the councils ERP system, Unit, with a particular focus on payroll processes and configuration. The ideal candidate will have a functional configuration background ideally relating to payroll processes in Unit but other similar roles and experience would be desirable. They must also have a history of working in system administration providing support for system defects and configuration changes. Experience and knowledge of transactional, finance and/or payroll processes is essential as well as experience of configuration management and testing.
In the role you will lead a functional support team co-ordinating the completion of a range of sys admin responsibilities as well as daily activities relating to support desk and issue resolution as well as undertaking system corrections and improvements to ensure efficient and effective processing within the councils Enterprise Resource Planning application, Unit. Knowledge of the Unit application would be desirable as would experience in a similar system or position.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
1. Lead a team responsible for Unit system administration and functional support.
2. Maintenance and administration of system settings and attributes.
3. Co-ordinate delivery of incident testing and resolution.
4. Ensuring effective operational delivery and service improvement.
5. Co-ordinating and supporting the implementation of system maintenance updates.
This role would suit someone with significant IT experience in ERP applications and knowledge of Microsoft Office. The role requires excellent communication skills and an ability to interpret and present data in a meaningful way. A pro-active and positive attitude with the ability to manage pressure effectively within a fast-paced environment is key.
An understanding of finance and payroll processes is vital to support team members in creating a positive and effective working environment and maintain customer relationships. Proven experience of analysing and documenting complex business processes and configuration management to ensure procedures are effective and managed successfully is also required.
