Senior Process Engineer
Education:
You should have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with honors in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
Experience:
You should have significant experience managing all processing & mechanical utility aspects associated with multi-million dollar food & beverage processing or packaging projects. Significant experience with food & beverage processing and packaging operations is essential. Solid technical understanding of processing and packaging equipment systems is necessary. Experience with all aspects of high-speed beverage processing is highly preferred including blending, pasteurization, sterilization, filtration, concentration, storage systems, CIP & SIP together with all mechanical utility systems (steam, condensate, tower water, chilled water, HVAC, refrigeration, compressed air, etc.). You should possess at least 5 years relevant food or beverage industry experience.
Skills:
Strong written & verbal communication skills are essential. Very strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Word (complex formatting) and MS Excel (complex multi-sheet workbooks with macros) is essential. Knowledge of MS Project & MS PowerPoint preferred. Concise technical writing ability required. Team player with ability to get on well with others required.
Duties:
1. Design all aspects of processing and mechanical utility systems to support new processing and packaging systems.
2. Development of plant layout drawings.
3. Design new processing systems (P&IDs, piping schematics, etc.).
4. Define mechanical utility requirements for new processing & packaging systems.
5. Design new mechanical utility generation systems (steam boilers, air compressors, water towers, chillers, etc.).
6. Design mechanical utility distribution systems (piping systems).
7. Evaluation of new equipment from an electrical perspective.
8. Development of bid documents.
9. Evaluation of new equipment.
10. Management of contractors performing site installation.
11. Writing of technical manuals.
12. Development & management of schedules and budgets for multi-million dollar processing & packaging projects.
13. Management of client relationships.
Location & Travel:
This position will be based at our office in Rochester, New York. However, when we're done with COVID, significant travel within the USA may at times be required to meet our project workload.
