Our client is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for a contract position within the Defence and Security sector, based in Marlow. This role involves working on avionics projects, including Search & Rescue Direction Finders, Emergency Services Air to Ground Radios, and GNSS Anti-Jam equipment. You will bring your experience of requirements capture and verification to the Avionics Business Unit, helping to deliver complex product developments.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage product requirements database, capturing customer requirements and deriving product system level requirements.
* Generate and execute product verification and qualification campaigns.
* Support systems integration and product verification/validation trials.
* Engage with customers, supporting meetings and presentations.
* Contribute to project reports and process improvements.
* Work under guidance from project leads and subject matter experts, ensuring tasks meet project milestones.
* Handle stakeholder management with internal and external customers.
Job Requirements:
* Experience in systems integration, systems test, and systems design.
* Proven ability to deliver projects to quality, cost, and schedule.
* Strong communication, organisation, and presentation skills.
* Familiarity with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, Polarion).
* Knowledge of Aerospace Safety standards and Aerospace and Defence design and qualification standards (e.g., ARP4754, Mil-Std-461).
* Understanding of configuration management, interface control design, reliability engineering, and safety standards.
* All applicants must have or be able to obtain Security Clearance.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
* Recognised technology-based degree.
* Significant experience in product development within a regulated environment, such as Aerospace.
* Proven track record in managing requirements and product verification campaigns.
* Excellent collaboration and problem-solving skills.
* Natural leadership aptitude with ability to work in highly effective teams.
* Proactive nature with a focus on continuous professional development.
* Ability to make risk-based decisions on technical issues.
