Senior Quantity Surveyor – Joinery / Fit Out Ipswich Area £50,000 to £70,000 per annum (DOE) plus package OR792 Our client is an ambitious and progressive Fitout contractor who include a large amount of carpentry and joinery packages within their projects. The company specialise in the commercial fit out sector. They are actively searching for a Senior Quantity Surveyor with a good carpentry, joinery and fit out background. The right Quantity Surveyor will be joining a small team at their head office on the outskirts of Ipswich and would be expected to carry out site visits. The role has come about due to organic growth and ROLE: · Reviewing tender documents · Awareness of Health, Safety and Environmental requirements · Pre-start meetings · Set prices for subcontractors in conjunction with Commercial Director · Visit sites and measure up for all subcontractors' payments, value the subcontractor works and pass to Commercial Director for approval on a fortnightly basis · Collate information regarding employee wages and pass to Commercial Director for approval on a fortnightly basis · Attend site at regular intervals to value work complete. · Price contract variations · Provide detailed rate build ups where necessary · Monitor contract programme verses site progress Submit valuations in line with valuation dates · Maintain cost reports for each contract · Submit final accounts on completion of project · Attend final account meetings as necessary and agree account; produce final statement CANDIDATE: · Experience ideally in carpentry and joinery either from a trade background or in your current Quantity Surveying position · Communication – communicates clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing · Adaptable- identify work priorities and manage own workload, able to change with business needs · Interpersonal skills – able to work effectively with others and establish positive relationships with employees and external parties · PC skills – Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and others as required; able to adapt to and learn new systems · Degree and professional qualification are advantageous but not essential
