What if your job was to play with cutting-edge CNC machines & share what they can do with the world whilst inspiring the next generation?
This isn’t your typical machine shop role. As Technology Centre Manager, you’ll combine your CNC expertise with creativity & leadership to manage a unique facility that showcases the latest tools, tech, and machines.
Whether you’re demonstrating cutting-edge engineering solutions, hosting a podcast, or creating content to inspire the next generation, this is your chance to take centre stage in a role that blends hands-on engineering with innovation & communication.
You’ll be managing client projects in a one-of-a-kind facility launched 2.5 years ago, working with suppliers & customers to showcase what’s possible.
You’ll have the support of a digital marketing team, and if you’re keen to learn new skills like videography or podcasting, the opportunity is right here waiting for you.
This technology centre manager opportunity isn’t just about running machines…it’s about telling their story, showing how engineering transforms industries, and helping to inspire a more diverse future workforce, including encouraging everyone to see engineering as a space where they can thrive.
Your new boss gets it… they started on the tools too. They’ve taken their expertise into leadership by embracing technology and creativity to drive the business forward.
Now, they’re looking for someone like you to take the reins and lead this one-of-a-kind centre.
What’s in it for you?
£60k salary, plus a 10% bonus and a company car.
25 days holiday (plus bank holidays and your birthday off).
10% pension match, private medical cover (you and your family), and life insurance at 6x your salary.
Hybrid flexible working in a family friendly environment, meaning you don’t miss out on life because of work!
A role that combines hands-on engineering, creativity, and leadership.
What you’ll be doing as technology centre manager:
Managing the Technology Centre, overseeing client projects, and ensuring success.
Showcasing the latest CNC tools, tech, and machines through videos, podcasts, and events.
Confidently stepping in front of the camera to demonstrate tools, host podcasts, and inspire others (yes, we know there may be 16 takes and a lot of outtakes, that’s the world on camera no one sees!)
Organising open days & training sessions to engage clients, suppliers, and apprentices.
Mentoring and upskilling teams while helping to tackle the industry’s skills shortage.
What makes you a great fit?
You have a background in a machine shop…you started on the tools and know CNC inside out.
You’re confident sharing knowledge, whether that’s in front of a camera, hosting an event, or mentoring apprentices.
You’re passionate about making a difference—helping to showcase engineering as a career that’s creative, innovative, and accessible to all.
You’re ready to embrace new skills like videography and digital storytelling.
Why this matters:
The metals industry has a rich heritage, but the future needs fresh voices and perspectives. You’ll be playing a vital role in addressing the skills shortage by inspiring the next generation…including attracting more women & underrepresented groups…to see engineering as a career where they can thrive.
