Job Description
Summary
I am looking for someone to provide care and support for my son at home as well as assisting him to access his local community. My son is 3 years old and attends a specialist nursery. He has health needs due to a genetic condition and therefore requires one-to-one support on school transport. My son is not verbal, he has epilepsy, is tube fed and is a wheelchair user. He is also vulnerable to respiratory conditions.
He thrives on company and socialising with others. He responds excitedly to people he knows well and is a delight to work with. He lives in a busy household with 3 siblings.
Previous experience with complex needs is desired although full training will be given for the specific health requirements.
Due to my sons complex health needs, the successful applicant will require training to meet these needs. This training will be provided.

Additional duties:
Pad changing. Helping with other aspects of personal care as required, for example assisting the child to get changed at swimming pool/gym. Getting in and out of the wheelchair ('transferring') Physiotherapy exercises Accompanying on social and leisure activities and groups/appointments/shopping trips The above duties will involve accompanying parent in disability vehicle, lifting the folding wheelchair in/out of car, pushing the child’s wheelchair when out.
Additional requirements
The role requires close personal contact with an individual who is extremely vulnerable to the risk of infection and disease transmission. Preference may be given to applicants who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19. Careful consideration will be given to applicants who can show the vaccination is not suitable for them on reasonable grounds.
