Document Controller
Our client, a leading independent Oil & Gas operator, is currently seeking a Document Controller to join their busy operational Document Control Office
This is an initial 12-month contract position working Monday to Friday based in Norwich
This position has responsibility for supporting the business with all document management activity and to support all life cycle changes to operational and projects documentation and drawings.
Key Requirements:
1. Knowledge of the Oil and Gas business is highly desirable.
2. Experience in maintaining databases and data entry is desirable.
3. Excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills.
4. Ability to work under pressure.
5. A high level of personal motivation and the ability to multitask.
6. Ability to adhere to current HSE Guideline and Regulations on Manual Handling.
7. Manual handling experience would be beneficial.
Key Responsibilities Include:
8. Support all life cycle changes to operational/project documentation and drawings; from document creation, to review, to issue, to archiving
9. Administrate and manage the EDMS to maintain availability of documentation to the Business
10. Assist in all aspects of Records Management (archived hard copy records). This includes manual handling, indexing, and document retrieval
11. Support the Business with regard to all document queries, searching and retrieval
12. Administrate and manage the issuing of cable, document and piping numbers
13. Assist the business with scanning, large-scale plots, and manual creation
14. Work with large volumes of data, with a focus on data cleansing, bulk uploading, and meta data configuration
15. Support the Document management process, assisting with creation and maintenance of the MDR through the duration of the project.
16. Develop and maintain the projects area of the EDMS, bulk loading, issuing document numbers and liaising with vendors and projects.
Safety & Environmentally Critical Tasks:
17. Ensure the SEMS area of the EDMS is up to date, issuing new documents, and managing SEMS document review and updates.
18. Assist in promptly issuing the Safety-critical documents to the relevant copyholders.
19. Ensure the teams working onsite have access to the latest revisions of critical documents and drawings.
20. Control paper waste of returned controlled documents and drawings, in relation to the SEMS procedure for document disposal
