A highly reputable Multi Academy Trust is seeking an ambitious and dedicated Head of English to join the permanent staff of a GOOD-rated secondary school in Dorset. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate English specialist to lead a well-established department and drive excellence in teaching and learning.
The Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
* Leading and managing the English department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
* Developing and implementing an engaging and challenging English curriculum.
* Driving progress and attainment across all key stages.
* Supporting and developing teaching staff within the department.
* Contributing to whole-school improvement initiatives.
* Ensuring a culture of high expectations and success for all students.
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate will:
* Be a qualified teacher with QTS and a strong academic background in English.
* Have proven experience of teaching English at Key Stages 3, 4, and preferably Key Stage 5.
* Demonstrate a track record of raising attainment and improving student outcomes.
* Have experience in leading or managing a team, with the ability to inspire and develop others.
* Show a passion for curriculum innovation and creative teaching strategies.
* Be committed to inclusive education and ensuring all students reach their potential.
