Spire St Anthony Hospital is looking for an Outpatient Department Staff Nurse to join our dynamic and forward-thinking nursing team.
Founded in 1904, Spire St Anthony's Hospital delivers care through skilled and dedicated staff working together. With a completed £27m development investment, we provide very high-quality healthcare to patients around Sutton, Epsom, Surrey, and South London. We have six operating theatres covering a wide range of specialties and procedures including Ortho, Gynae, and Cardio. There is an ITU department providing care and accommodating more complex patients. We have a number of developmental training courses and progression opportunities available for our ambitious employees.
Overall Purpose
* Work effectively as a member of the clinical nursing team to ensure the provision of the highest standard of patient and customer care, accepting delegated responsibility for specific activities from the Outpatient Sister.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Support with Consultants clinics.
* Undertake chaperone duties as needed.
* Identify and escalate patients of concern to senior nursing staff including complaints, accidents, incidents, and near misses.
* Deliver skilled practical nursing care and participate in the monitoring, planning, delivery, and evaluation of individualized patient care in relevant areas of practice.
* Assist in the delivery of care to meet the individuals’ health and wellbeing needs.
* Provide and receive complex, sensitive, or contentious information.
* Promote best practice in health and safety and security.
* Prepare and maintain clinical records of patient care in line with NMC standards for records and record keeping.
* Meet legal and statutory requirements e.g. Health and Safety, COSHH Regulations, Manual Handling, and the control of drugs.
Who We're Looking For
Essential
* Registered nurse with valid NMC with no restrictions on practice.
* Excellent communication skills, along with being organized and showcasing excellent patient care.
* Experience in Out-Patient Departments.
* Excellent team working skills.
* Evidence of continuous professional development.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Desirable
* Venepuncture and cannulation.
* Competence in assisting with minor interventional procedures.
