Software Development Manager, Andover, Hampshire to £75,000 + bonus (Hybrid working)
This is an exciting time for a Software Development Manager to join an exciting Software company, and to be part of their growth journey. As a key member of the management team, the Software Development Manager will be responsible for setting and executing on the technology roadmap and strategy. You will lead and manage a team to set standards for the usage of their foundational technology like Azure Cloud, .NET, C#, SQL, XML, JavaScript/Typescript.
Skills and Responsibilities
1. Manage a number of technology experts across different technology disciplines (SDEs, QAEs, DevOps) that serve as the foundation for a diverse set of products.
2. Coach, mentor and develop the team. Previous experience of managing teams is required.
3. Effectively use non-core resources including contractors and outsourced development for non-core projects or to augment staff as needed.
4. Create an organization where people feel valued, are super productive, and love their jobs. If staff aren’t contributing and holding their own, you can have the necessary conversations and take action towards improvement.
5. Be heavily involved in business and product strategy and responsible for defining and driving the technical strategy for the company.
6. Contribute to and deliver on a multi-year technology roadmap that goes far beyond today’s technology portfolio.
7. Work hand-in-hand with the senior leadership team to develop the technology roadmap for the company and integrate effective technology usage into the development process.
8. Oversee the technical architecture from planning to tactical execution, serving as chief steward and champion in the management of the company’s technology framework, technical assets, engineering processes, and software development lifecycle.
9. Understand and manage the continued investment into system power, stability, and flexibility.
10. Have a strong interest in cutting-edge technology like AI, big data, cloud computing, algorithms, and rich web applications.
