Marine Project Engineer Geo Oceans currently have a requirement for a Marine Project Engineer to join our project team in Aberdeen on a full time, permanent basis. Geo Oceans are an industry-leading asset deployed mini-ROV technology and services company. We collaborate closely with our sister company Sonomatic to deploy subsea advanced NDT inspection tools and sensors from our small ROV systems, bringing innovative solutions to the subsea inspection market. Duties/Responsibilities The responsibilities will be varied but some of the main tasks will involve: Responsible for leading the technical work package associated with marine class inspection activities on permanent floating structures Management of individual projects dependent on type and scale under supervision of the business unit manager Responsible for the delivery of engineering and inspection deliverables in support of the specific projects, either independently or in conjunction with internal and external resources Participation in class accreditation audits as necessary Responsible for the development of technical inspection scopes of work and procedures for utilisation offshore, including step by step methodology, inspection methodologies, equipment requirements, and work packs for marine class tank inspection activities associated with permanent offshore floating structures Create, maintain and report on project schedules as required Update project management database as required for assigned work package Attend meetings with clients as required Actively participate in HIRAs and QHSE related activities Oversee offshore operations during initiation phase to ensure adherence to procedures and guidelines Travel offshore and internationally depending on project requirements What qualifications and experience would we like you to have? Diploma in Marine Surveying (Desirable) Offshore Survival and OGUK Medical (Desirable) PCN Level II qualifications in conventional NDT methods (UT/ECI) and knowledge/understanding of advanced NDT methods Minimum 5 years' experience working onshore in marine or subsea inspection industry - Oil and Gas Extensive experience liaising with IACS classification bodies and thorough understanding of the associated rules and guidelines Offshore experience in the execution of projects, specifically classification surveys on FPSOs, with sufficient technical knowledge to contribute towards the resolution of technical problems Experience in creating inspection work packs for class survey tank inspections, onboard FPSO's Knowledge in the use of project management software is advantageous Driven and focused with a willingness to further develop Excellent communicator, in both written and verbal forms with highly effective inter-personal skills supported by good attention to detail Creative and adaptable in the ability to manage new challenges Works closely with others to maximise team achievements and effectiveness through developing relationships and continuous sharing of knowledge and ideas This role may involve short spells offshore and/or overseas to assets so candidates may need to show a willingness and flexibility for travel.
