About our Maths Department
As a member of our Maths team, you will be supported and challenged, so that as well as contributing to students’
success and that of the School, you are personally developed in your career. There are lots of opportunities within
the department to lead on specific elements of our curriculum delivery if this is something you would like to do. The
Maths Team is made up of 10 dedicated experienced colleagues.
Our Maths Team are committed colleagues who ensure that this area of school and college is vibrant and inclusive.
The academy is incredibly fortunate to work alongside our Freeston Foundation and host a variety of external
workshops, roadshows, competitions and opportunities each year. Historically we have had Magic Maths
workshops, university STEM opportunities, a visiting Maths poet, links with Art and local galleries, and national
competitions. We have in-house tutor competitions for Numeracy each week, a Maths Masters enrichment
programme, UKMT opportunities and many more.
Every classroom has a large television screen which can be used interactively and a visualiser and these are used extensively by the team.
