1) SALES ASSISTANT – Full time vacancy
As the Company develops and changes, the role will also change and develop. The Role & Responsibilities listed below attempts to provide a good overview of the main areas within the job remit. It however cannot list every single eventuality and cannot pre-empt the future needs of the business.
This role provides an opportunity to develop your skills and is viewed as a training ground to learn all aspects of the business. The successful applicant will be expected to develop a good understanding of the Back Office Operation and Goods Inwards. This in turn will allow other members of staff to start on the same rotation to assist with their training and development.
The priorities for the role will be defined on a daily basis by our Customers.

To provide exceptional customer service to every customer whether in person, by telephone or email.
1. Customer Service
• All Customers acknowledged pleasantly when entering shop
• No Customers left unattended or not acknowledged
• All telephones answered
• Customers involved throughout the duration of the sale
2. Communication
• Listens to customers to ascertain true nature of enquiry
• Asks questions to assist in the enquiry
• Provides suggestions and alternatives to ensure Customers can make an informed decision.
• Considers others by constantly informing team members of actions and movements.
3. Team Work
• Considers impact of actions on other team members.
• Works with others to ensure all activities are undertaken in a considered, timely and efficient manner.
• Works with all team members to present a professional and cohesive image to Customers.
4. ACCURACY & NUMERACY
• Ensure Customers are provided with the correct change at all times
• Ensure quantity of goods is entered onto the system accurately
• Ensure all Customers are provided with the quantities and items requested
• Ability to calculate VAT
• Ability to manually calculate percentages
5. Planning & Organising
• Works with other team members to identify best method(s) for completing all required tasks whilst ensuring Customers are the priority.
6. Training & Development
• Participates in any training offered through workplace
• Asks about unfamiliar products to develop knowledge and understanding
• Listens to customers and colleagues to develop knowledge and understanding
• Takes personal responsibility to increase own knowledge of products within location.
7. Shop Appearance
• Maintains and enhances external appearance of shop & car park
• Shop & warehouse floors swept and vacuumed daily
• Shelving and products kept dust free and in good saleable condition
• Products in the shop to be organised in a logical and tidy manner
• Counter kept clean, dust free and free of unnecessary clutter
• Shop floor and aisles kept clear and free of clutter
• Shelves kept tidy and products put away in correct place
• Shelves kept stocked and restocked as necessary
