The Senior Information Manager is a newly created, high impact role within the Governance and Assurance area of Security Services Group (SSG). This pivotal role will shape how SSG develops and embeds Information Governance, Assurance and Management across its diverse operations and locations. You will lead the management of SSG's information assets, driving good practice, cultural change and compliance with MOD and DIO standards. Your expertise will support a systematic approach to risk management, control and assurance ensuring SSG operates effectively and securely. Key Responsibilities: Leadership: Enable Head SSG and wider senior leaders to deliver targets and goals. Drive strong working relationships across SSG and MOD. Be responsible for managing one direct report. Information Governance & Assurance: Ensure compliance with GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, including oversight of Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs). Lead the development and maintenance of the Information Management Plan, Information Assurance Strategy and Records Management Improvement Plan. Coordinate the protection, sharing, and management of information assets in line with legislation and MOD policies. Risk Management: Supervise and govern information risks, delivering recommendations and reports to senior leaders. Audit and Compliance: Conduct regular assurance checks to ensure compliance with MOD standards and manage external audits. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on Information Management standards and support organisational change initiatives. Person specification Essential: Proven experience in Information Management and understanding of relevant policies, including GDPR. Strong analytical skills in order to deliver briefings on Information Management to HMG and Head SSG to support decisions including prioritisation and resourcing. Excellent communication to undertake complex discussions and process reviews with SSG Operations, HQ employees and wider collaborators. Be self-motivated and have excellent organisational skills. A willingness to learn unfamiliar areas. Demonstrate a flexible approach to work and attend site meetings and other locations when required. Desirable: Certifications such as GKIM Information Management or Foundation in Data Protection (British Computer Society or equivalent). Experience working within MOD or a similar organisation.
