Hourly Rate: £35.00 PAYE or £45.50 Umbrella inside IR35

Overview
BAE Systems are seeking an experienced Procurement Group Leader to join the team. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in procurement practices and play a key role in sourcing, supplier management, and procurement strategy deployment.
Skills
* At least 5 years of experience in a procurement environment.
* Strong knowledge of sourcing processes, contracting, financial awareness, and supplier management.
* Proven ability to negotiate complex contracts and work with stakeholders at all levels.
* A proactive problem solver with a focus on service improvements and efficiencies.
* Excellent communication, influencing, and collaborative skills.
* Ability to manage and lead a team, demonstrating leadership behaviours.
The Job
* Lead the sourcing and contracting process for assigned category suppliers.
* Proactively manage supplier performance, fostering strong relationships and a performance-driven culture.
* Collaborate with internal teams to ensure procurement solutions align with business needs.
* Use data analytics to assess supplier performance and identify cost-saving opportunities.
* Identify and manage category risks, ensuring compliance with governance and assurance activities.
* Support change and transformation projects as required.
* Manage the day-to-day support for category queries, liaising with preferred suppliers
