English Graduate Teaching Assistant – Full-Time Role in Levenshulme Teaching Personnel is seeking an English Graduate Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ secondary school in Levenshulme. This is a full-time position starting immediately, running until the end of the academic year, with the potential for a permanent role based on performance. Role Overview This role is ideal for a recent English graduate who is passionate about education and looking to gain hands-on experience in a school setting. The successful candidate will support students in developing their reading, writing, and analytical skills, helping them to engage with the curriculum and build confidence in their abilities. Key Responsibilities: Assisting English teachers in the delivery of lessons, ensuring students remain engaged and supported. Providing one-to-one and small group support, particularly for students who need additional help with literacy skills. Helping to prepare learning materials and resources tailored to different ability levels. Supporting students in developing critical thinking and comprehension skills when engaging with texts. Assisting students with special educational needs (SEN) or those who require targeted intervention in English. Encouraging a love for reading and writing through interactive learning activities. Monitoring student progress, providing feedback, and working with teachers to implement support strategies. Helping to manage classroom behaviour and ensuring a positive learning environment. Candidate Requirements: A degree in English, English Literature, English Language, or a related subject (2:2 or above preferred). A strong understanding of literary analysis, grammar, and writing skills. A passion for education and student development. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students. The ability to work collaboratively within a team and take initiative when supporting students. Previous experience working with young people (e.g., tutoring, mentoring, classroom support) is beneficial but not essential. Salary & Benefits: Weekly pay between £419.25 - £500, depending on experience and responsibilities.
