Job Description
POSITION PURPOSE
As a Technical Writer, you will produce high-quality documentation that contributes to the overall success of our products. You will work collaboratively with developers, quality engineers, product managers, and usability experts to make our products easier to use.
MAJOR / KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Define and execute a Knowledge Management strategy for various Digital Software applications alongside the Senior Technical Writer.
• Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements.
• Communicate and work with cross-functional teams from software engineering to end users in the business who you need to influence, but over whom you have no control.
• Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience.
• Write easy-to-understand user interface text, release notes, online help, user guides, and developer guides.
• Create tutorials to help end-users use a variety of applications.
• Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities.
• Create and maintain the information architecture.
• Organize unstructured and frequently contradictory information into easily navigable materials for the end user.
• Work with software development teams using tools such as Jira and Confluence.
• Prioritize deliverables based on version release schedules, manage your time, and organize feedback from suitable SMEs.
• Rapidly understand technical and business concepts and convey them using clear and precise language.
• Ensure all operations comply with the Zero Harm framework and implement all Zero Harm policies and action plans.
CHALLENGES / PROBLEM SOLVING
• Analyze, reason, and arrive at conclusions to solve problems ranging from routine to complex requiring innovative solutions.
AUTHORITY / DECISION MAKING
• Work autonomously with varying levels of line manager support across different locations and time zones.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in English, writing, or related field.
• Demonstrated superior writing abilities and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of media production, dissemination techniques, and methods.
• Knowledge of graphic and design techniques.
• Experience working with diverse teams of creative and technical experts.
• Ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
EXPERIENCE
• Minimum 3-5 years of software technical writing experience.
• Knowledge of industrial supply chain networks, cloud, and IoT space preferred.
• Cross-functional experience and effective communication.
• Experience in a global and diverse cultural organization.
• Proficient in JIRA, Confluence, CSS, and HTML.
• Experience with Madcap Flare or similar Help Authoring Tools (HAT) is required.
• Familiarity with Bitbucket (for source control and backup) and Amazon AWS (for publishing help content) is a plus.
• Experience with image capturing tools.
