We're looking for a Quality Engineer to join our Transportation major projects team based on M6 Lune Gorge. In this role, you will contribute to the successful delivery and ongoing enhancement of quality standards across Kier Transportation Major Projects, including key schemes such as the M6 Lune Gorge.
The M6 Motorway through the Lune Gorge in Cumbria is a vital transport link, connecting the south and Midlands of England to the north and the Scottish border. The M6 Lune Gorge project focuses on the safe replacement of eight bridge decks between Junctions 37 and 38, ensuring work is completed on schedule, within budget, and with minimal disruption to road users.

Location: M6 Lune Gorge - travel to the office is required with remote working available
Hours: Permanent Fulltime - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us
Salary: £39,000 - £45,000 per year + £5k annual car allowance + benefits
What will you be responsible for?
As a Quality Engineer, you'll be collaborating with National Highways and the project team to ensure compliance, keep Kier Group's values, and lead quality assurance initiatives
Your day to day will include:
* Collaborate with the project team, suppliers, and subcontractors within your area of responsibility to ensure compliance with quality standards.
* Identify quality observations, deficiencies and non-conformances, recording findings and complete the relevant processes to support and resolve any issues
* Ensure Quality documentation and records are appropriately collated and maintained in the Quality filing system and IMS
* Carry out internal audits and other quality surveillance activities as required

* Experience in a similar role
* Ability to apply quality assurance knowledge to support teams, by investigating non-conformities and ensuring lessons learnt are communicated
* Understanding of integrated management systems and the ability to develop and improve processes
