REFERRAL NURSING POST REGISTRATION PROGRAMME
Our unique year-long programme is designed to equip newly-qualified nurses (0-12m registered) with the skills and knowledge to begin an exciting career in referral nursing.
During the programme you will rotate around three core areas for a total of three months per area (Wards, Theatre and Diagnostics) with a designated skills supervisor on hand to offer you support.
You will have the choice of an optional rotation which will differ depending on the referral practice and your preference.
Examples of optional rotations include soft tissue, orthopaedics, neurology, internal medicine and dentistry.

Together with the PRP managers and skills supervisors, our fully trained preceptors (a term used in the NHS to describe a clinical mentor) will support your transition from student to successful referral nurse by helping you progress your professional behaviours and referral level clinical skills.
In addition to the clinical experience and training you receive you will also attend five professional development days (PDD) which will accelerate your career within referral nursing.
These will include:
* Understanding team dynamics
* Communication training
* Quality Improvement Skills
* Human Factors and Patient Safety
* Support in creating CPD and training activities
* Career progression
* Professional resilience
* Clinical Skills, such as CPR
You will also have access to a generous CPD budget and an additional CPD allowance. This coupled with our fantastic starting salary, annual leave allowance and employee benefits package will allow you to start your career in referral nursing in the best way possible.
By the end of the programme we hope to have supported our newly-qualified nurses to become fully fledged members of the referral team who are confident in their ability to perform all aspects of referral nursing, who are able to contribute to QI initiatives, support the delivery of CPD and training activities and support other new nurses joining the business.
