Project Manager / Contracts Manager South Wales Permanent Salary Benefits Package Our client are a dynamic and rapidly growing civil engineering contractor based in South Wales, delivering essential infrastructure solutions across the UK. With specialisms in utilities, highways, renewables and complex civils. The Role: As a Project Manager, you will take responsibility for managing multiple projects from pre-construction through to completion. You will oversee site teams, liaise with clients, and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and programme requirements. You will work closely with directors and senior stakeholders to ensure commercial success and client satisfaction. Key Responsibilities: Manage multiple live projects Take ownership of the full project lifecycle—planning, resourcing, delivery, and closeout. Lead site teams and subcontractors, ensuring works are delivered safely, to spec, on time and within budget. Interface with clients, consultants, supply chain, and internal departments to drive progress and resolve challenges. Prepare and manage programmes of work, risk registers, site documentation, and project reporting. Ensure strict compliance with HSE policies and industry best practices. Contribute to project cost control, contract management, and value engineering initiatives. Work closely with commercial, design, and procurement teams to maintain project alignment. The Candidate: Proven experience as a Project Manager or Contracts Manager in civil engineering or utilities. Strong technical understanding of infrastructure, civils, groundworks, drainage, utilities (power, telecoms, water), or renewable energy projects. Knowledge of NEC and/or JCT contracts is desirable. Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills. Strong focus on health & safety and risk management. IT proficiency (Microsoft Office, project management software).
