About the Role: Waking Night Support Worker
Waking Night Support workers help the people we support to feel safe and secure throughout the night. Delivering exceptional care and individualized support ensures that our residents live as independently and safely as possible. In addition, the responsibilities of the role are to assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the service and carry out necessary utility checks. This is a personally rewarding role where you can build on your skills and experience. Having a background in supporting people with Autism in a previous role within a social care environment is desirable, although is not essential.
What is essential is that you understand that autism can be complex and challenging and that each person we support is unique.
Meet the Team:
Homersham is a Supported Living service, a short walk away from the vibrant hustle and bustle of Canterbury. It has 7 tenants, 6 men, and 1 lady aged between 21-28. There are 4 self-contained flats and 3 ensuite bedrooms with a shared communal area.
Our tenants participate in a wide range of activities in the community, such as bowling, trying new restaurants, staycations and even holidays abroad. When at the service our tenants enjoy movie and karaoke nights, celebrating special events from around the world. Anything from the festival of lights to pancake day, you name it, we celebrate it! They also have a lovely outdoor space where they enjoy socialising and a good barbeque in the summer months.
The specialist staff team in situ are looking forward to welcoming a new colleague and has suggested we let you know they love to socialise and enjoy a good coffee. They are all friendly and eager to welcome you to the team!
If you are a positive, forward-thinking, and compassionate Support Worker, (don't worry if you're not yet a coffee connoisseur, because you soon will be), then we would love to hear from you.
