Sorrel is a mixed 11 bed Psychiatric Intensive Care unit that provides care to vulnerable adults detained under the Mental Health Act. The ward provides a low stimulus environment for patients who have specific needs and associated risks that cannot be managed on other wards. Based in Reading, located close to the amenities of the town centre and a leafy park, the ward works closely with patients and families to help them to identify their needs and participate actively in their care, providing a place of empathy, kindness, and compassion.
