Job summary We require a HPC Registered Dietitian to join our friendly department of Dietitians providing the nutrition and dietetic service to Hounslow Borough. The postholder will contribute to the Gastroenterology, HEF and ONS service in the community. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in Community Dietetics in a supportive environment. In the wider Dietetic team, we have specialist areas such as a cardiology and paediatrics. Main duties of the job o Provide a professional nutrition and dietetic service to gastroenterology, HEF and Nutrition Support patients and their families. o Provide the service to both patients with a Hounslow GP and referred by primary, community and secondary care.o See patients in a variety of community clinics and other venues across Hounslow Borough or in the patients' own home where this is appropriateo Be responsible for the initial education and training of Coeliac patients referred and their follow up via Annual Review groups. The postholder will be assisted in this by other Community Dietitianso Provide FODMAP education to patients.o Train Primary Care staff (GP's, Practice Nurse etc.) in, 1st line advice, the referral pathway and policies and procedures relating to Gastroenterology and Nutrition Support.o Be competent in supervising dietetic students in accordance with their university's standards.o Have acquired professional knowledge through approved degree, postgraduate diploma training plus continuous professional development is essential. Continue to undergo dietetic training in specialist areas.
