The Department for Child Protection is seeking a Youth Engagement Officer to join the North Region Support office on a full-time term basis.
This role is responsible for:
* Providing oversight and direction to the Youth Advisory Council (YAC) in the North Region.
* Designing and delivering a range of recreational and youth advocacy programs in collaboration with young people on the YAC.
* Communicating with external stakeholders and operational staff to support young people’s participation in YAC meetings and activities.
* Coordinating regular YAC meetings, developing and implementing projects associated with the YAC.
About You
We are looking for a vibrant and resourceful individual with the ability to build rapport and maintain engagement with young people who have been in care.
To be successful in this role, you will be highly organised and have the ability to arrange and facilitate youth consultation groups.
Our ideal candidate will be able to effectively communicate and work with stakeholders and young people from diverse backgrounds.
