Subject Lead and Teacher for Media Studies
(with a second subject of English)

Are you a talented and committed teacher of Media Studies and English who wants to join our Academy at the forefront of change? This role combines the leadership of Media Studies at Key Stage 4 and 5 and the opportunity to teach Media and English in a high performing faculty in our Academy.
Joseph Leckie Academy is seeking to appoint an excellent leader of Media who is an outstanding classroom practitioner, enthusiastic, passionate, innovative, interactive, and engaging. This role will add further capacity to increase opportunities for our students to excel in Media and Communication.
Key responsibilities:
* Lead Media Studies: KS4 (GCSE Media Studies (currently EDUQAS) and Level 3 Media (Single Award)), contributing to curriculum development, teaching and learning, and student progress and attainment.
* Teach Media at both Key Stage 4 and 5 and English at KS3 and 4, inspiring students to excel in lessons to ensure outstanding progress and attainment.
* Implement and deliver a broad, balanced, relevant, and differentiated curriculum for students in Media Studies at Key Stage 4 and 5.
* Monitor and support the overall progress and development of students as a leader of Media Studies and as a teacher.
* Facilitate and encourage a learning experience within and beyond the curriculum, providing students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential.
* Contribute to raising standards of student attainment in Media and English.
* Support and maintain collaborative relationships within the faculty, with students, parents, and external professionals.
The successful candidate must hold QTS or equivalent, a relevant honours degree, and meet the criteria in the job description.
Our last Ofsted inspection judged the Academy to be good in all categories, with excellent feedback across all subjects and our Pastoral Care.
