About the role
We are seeking to appoint a Systems and Administration Officer to join the Housing Services Department to contribute to the day to day operations of all housing software and systems that enable the allocation and management of 5000 bedspaces.
You will assist the Housing IT Systems and Administration Manager with the daily management of all student accommodation related systems. This will include the Star-Rez database, the online shop, interaction with Unit 4 and Oracle central database and other University systems, Web Content Manager and other University systems. Working as part of a team, you will provide up to date and accurate information, advice and guidance to students, managers and staff at all levels on a specified range of services, procedures or policies.
You will be responsible for the student facing presentation of the Housing Portal to ensure that it is user friendly and accessible to all students as well as ensuring that our webpages and Social Media Content are up to date.
You will produce information for training and guidance for the Summer Assistants. You will also demonstrate an ability to solve problems efficiently by having the experience and confidence to extract data and reports from the system and present them in an appropriate format for target audiences.
You will liaise between service users and operational teams in relation to queries and requests.
About you
Ideally, you will have had prior experience in administration of IT and aspects of Social media packages. You will have outstanding interpersonal and administration skills as well as competent IT skills. You will have confidence in working with internal and external partners on a regular basis. You will take ownership of service requests and enquiries received by the Systems Team. You will be proactive in supporting the team and suggest improvements when and where appropriate.
