Company Description
At AECOM, we're delivering a better world. Whether improving your commute, keeping the lights on, providing access to clean water, or transforming skylines, our work helps people and communities thrive. We are the world's trusted infrastructure consulting firm, partnering with clients to solve the world’s most complex challenges and build legacies for future generations.
Are you ready to shape the future of water infrastructure? We’re looking for a Principal Process Engineer to join our growing Water Solutions team in London, St Albans, Croydon, or Basingstoke. In this role, you’ll support the delivery of Southern Water's £3.7 billion capital delivery programme, working on projects ranging from small rural sites to multi-million-pound schemes, covering both water and wastewater (Infrastructure and Non-Infrastructure).
Here’s what you'll do:
1. Process Equipment Design: Lead the design of process equipment, ensuring systems are efficient, reliable, and meet the needs of our clients.
2. Documentation & Specifications: Generate and review essential engineering documents such as PFDs (Process Flow Diagrams), P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), and Mass/Energy balances to ensure the highest technical standards.
3. Technical Writing: Create and refine technical and tender specifications that are clear, precise, and compliant with relevant standards and regulations.
4. Decision Making & Troubleshooting: Take a proactive approach to problem-solving, making key decisions and troubleshooting process issues to ensure smooth project execution.
5. Safety Reviews: Actively participate in safety reviews, including HAZOP (Hazard and Operability Study) and HAZID (Hazard Identification) assessments, to ensure that our designs meet the highest safety standards.
6. Process Safety Documents: Prepare critical documents such as Hazardous Area Classification and Layer of Protection Analysis (LoPA) to ensure process safety throughout all project stages.
7. Regulatory Knowledge: Leverage your in-depth knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, processes, and procedures to ensure compliance and contribute to the successful delivery of each project.
If you're passionate about innovation and turning bold ideas into reality, AECOM welcomes you. Join our team, where we don't just construct infrastructure but also uplift communities and enhance lives.
Here’s what we’re looking for:
1. Degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry/Biological Science
2. Chartered (or can demonstrate learning and development on course to achieve chartered status)
3. Water Industry Experience
We celebrate diversity, including neurodiversity, and believe it enriches our team. We welcome applications from all backgrounds and abilities.
