We are seeking an experienced Senior Electronics Engineer to join our growing team. Key Responsibilities:
1. Requirement Analysis & Decomposition - Interpret system requirements and break them down into hardware specifications.
2. Electronics & Firmware Development - Design, develop, and review electronic circuits and firmware across full system, sub-system, and board-level designs.
3. Technical Oversight - Ensure the technical solution aligns with customer, legislative, and business requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
4. Project Leadership - Act as Project Engineering Lead or Work Package Manager, overseeing engineering activities and ensuring successful project execution.
5. Testing & Integration - Oversee initial test and integration, including formal testing to validate design performance.
6. Documentation & Compliance - Produce and approve technical documentation such as management plans, design documents, and test specifications while ensuring adherence to industry standards.
7. Mentoring & Team Support - Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, supporting their development within the team.
8. Stakeholder Engagement - Liaise with customers, suppliers, and cross-disciplinary teams (mechanical, software, systems, and project management) to resolve issues and ensure smooth project progress.
Requirements:
1. Extensive Experience in Electronics/Firmware Engineering - Proven track record across the full project lifecycle, from design and development to testing and in-service support.
2. Background in Analogue and Digital Electronics Design - Hands-on experience with circuit design, schematic development, and PCB layout - with ECAD experience.
3. Project Delivery Experience - Ability to deliver reliable solutions on time and within budget, preferably in a fixed-price contract environment.
4. Multidisciplinary Team Collaboration - Comfortable working with Project Management, Systems, Mechanical, and Software Engineering teams to resolve issues and drive project success.
5. Relevant Technical Expertise - Knowledge of EMC, electrical safety, signal integrity, power electronics, RF, sonar, or high-speed digital design, along with experience in prototyping, testing, and verification.
6. Security Clearance Eligibility - Must be capable of obtaining SC clearance and be a sole UK national due to security requirements.
