Our service uses a holistic and person centred approach with support from local community teams. Service users are encouraged to make choices and work towards independence. The team work in collaboration with the service user, care co-ordinators and the commissioning team to deliver a package of care that is realistic and specific to the individual’s needs. Our focus of care is to help service users to gain confidence and build independence in order to improve their quality with the view to step down in to less supported living if the service user wishes to, 85 Brecon Road can also be a home for life for service users wishing to remain here.Job Advert Role DescriptionThe successful candidate will demonstrate the highest standard of person centred support and care to the people who use our service, while maintaining the individual’s dignity, respect and encourage the service users to be as independent as possible and realise their potential; while ensuring your own actions and behaviour comply with Corporate Policy and Local Procedures, Statutory Regulations and Quality Standards. Personal care is not currently a requirement however if a service users’ needs change, support staff will be expected to support the individual’s needs effectively. The successful candidate will be working within a team of support workers and two senior support workers with a deputy manager and home manager. Service Users are supported with all aspects of daily living including; cooking, cleaning, meal preparation, attending college and work placements, visiting family and friends, accessing the community, going on holiday and attending appointments. At 85 Brecon Road we promote the service users to treat the home as if their own, personalising their own bedrooms and communal areas. The successful candidate will have Level 2 in Health & Social care or be willing to work towards this. Some IT skills would be desirable. Shifts are 7-7 and this post is predominantly night shifts. A driver (driving over 3 years) is preferable.
