Located in FAREHAM, Collingwood is home to training of RN personnel in numerous disciplines including Weapons Engineering, Seamanship, Warfare, Navigation and Communications; prior to their arrival with the fleet. Job Description The Crypto Custody Department works under the Establishment Security Cell and is directly accountable to the Captain of the establishment. The position is an ambitious and exciting opportunity which requires good judgement, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to flexibly operate in effectively prioritising tasks. The Alternate Crypto Custodian will be working alongside the Crypto Custodian and is responsible to them for the whole life accounting for all Cryptographic items held on account, ensuring the safe handling and distribution and disposal of these items are recorded and controlled appropriately. The post holder will work directly to the Crypto Custodian within a small specialist team undertaking a variety of interesting and challenging activities. Along with the Crypto Custodian, you are the principal advisers and subject matter experts on all aspects of Cryptographic security and the methods necessary to provide the correct level of protection relevant to their Cryptographic holdings. Key Responsibilities: Administering the receipt, stowage, issue and return of cryptographic equipment. Liaising with establishment personnel and Cryptographic Holders to provide specialist advice. Assisting in the management of the Cryptographic Department Offices and outer areas. Deputising for the Crypto Custodian during periods of leave and absence. Completing regular prescribed musters of Cryptographic equipment on charge to the holders. This position will be subject to gaining a Developed Vetting (DV) Clearance.
