The Hull, Massachusetts wastewater treatment facility is undergoing a comprehensive upgrade that will make it able to handle anything that the New England weather and seasonal population can throw at it. In this Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator role, you will be directly involved with Facility Operations and general maintenance of equipment at the Hull Activated Sludge Wastewater Treatment Facility. Work is performed in a safe and professional manner by following established safety, operating, and emergency response procedures.
Typical responsibilities include:
* Daily operation and maintenance at the wastewater treatment facility and pump stations as directed by the Project Manager.
* Operation of assigned treatment, mechanical and electrical equipment and other similarly related facility components and equipment.
* Perform preventive maintenance activities as scheduled to include inspection of remote pump stations and ancillary equipment.
* Competent in corrective maintenance best practices and scheduling.
Schedule:
* Monday – Friday 7:00am – 3:30pm with some weekends and be a part of the on-call operator rotation. In addition, operators will be required to respond to emergency situations and work in inclement weather as needed.
What will you need to succeed?
* Applicant must possess a valid Massachusetts Driver’s License.
* Massachusetts Wastewater Treatment Plant Grade 3 Certification (preferred).
* Minimum of three years of related experience in the installation, maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment, or other mechanical concerns, such as HVAC or auto/truck repair.
* Familiar with computers (Excel, Word, HACH WIMS, etc.), including report generation.
* Must have the ability to establish effective working relationships with other employees.
* Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check, pre-placement physical, and drug screen before employment.
$23 - $30 an hour
Depending on qualifications and experience.
