Overview
The main purpose of the Team Leader is to manage the day-to-day PM shift operation and performance of the Kitchen which has 6 different operations: Stephan, tumbler, cooking, racking and tubing of product, pot cooking, and oven.
You will lead the team to meet the daily targets set on each activity and develop the KPI sheets for each area while supervising 4 operatives.
You will need to confidently deal with a wide range of employee, operational, and health and safety issues in accordance with company policy and procedures.
This position will be 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 14:00 - 22:00.

Responsibilities
* Control/minimise devaluations by following the recipes and procedures in place.
* Conduct monthly 1-2-1 meetings with all staff to improve engagement.
* Design and take ownership of all procedures and SOP for all 3 areas.
* Ensure cleaning of both high and low care areas, with trained staff using chemicals safely.
* Implement and sustain 5S processes in each area.
* Hold weekly department meetings to report outputs and discuss issues.
* Work on the traceability project to improve traceability in the area.
* Collaborate with TL support to ensure supply of materials for 100% plan attainment.
* Develop attribute sheets for every cooking and operation within the kitchen area.
* Ensure all staff taste every batch before it is released.
* Develop a weighing operation for each cooking.
* Maintain good environmental controls (e.g., waste segregation/minimisation, efficient use of equipment/energy).
* Support project work (continuous improvement plans) and investigate improvement opportunities.
* Manage and develop KPI spreadsheets to improve department targets.
* Display daily achievements to engage the team.
* Conduct monthly meetings with the production manager and finance team to update on KPI improvements.
* Help other areas replicate improvements made in kitchen KPIs.
* Report on department performance (KPI results) at daily production meetings.
* Collect data needed to improve the area.
About you
* GCSEs in English and Mathematics at grade C, or equivalent qualification.
* NVQ Level 3 qualification.
* Level 3 in Food Hygiene.
* Cleaning in Food Premises qualification.
* Sustainable Safety Accident Investigation training.
* Management training/qualification.
