Job overview
We are recruiting for a Registered Nurse - Same Day Emergency Care who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

We are currently reconfiguring our SDEC services into a new build which will provide a flow out of ED along with our GP referrals. Medical speciality hot clinics will also be in the same footprint. This provides exciting opportunities for new ways of working and progression.

Main duties of the job
This role would be ideal for nurses with a medical background who have a passion for acute medicine. The service operates a twelve-hour day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
You will work collaboratively with the senior team in SDEC to deliver effective, high-quality, safe patient-centred care, following the mission and vision of EHNT.
We will support you in your continuing education, training, and professional development to promote the acquisition of new skills and knowledge, ensuring that nursing staff acquire and maintain the professional standards and competencies when caring for people.
To participate as a member of the nursing team in providing a high standard of research-based care. To provide support to the team of staff working in the area to deliver a quality service linked to high standards of patient care.
To facilitate early discharge planning to enable appropriate arrangements to be in place.

Qualifications
* Current NMC registration as a Nurse or Midwife.
* Evidence of recent and relevant Professional Development.
* Attained further studies in medicine/healthcare/nursing.
* Good background in acute medicine/ED.
* Evidence of Research/Quality Improvement (QI).
* Completion of core competency training.
* Completion of Preparation for Mentorship.
* Completion of ALS/BLS/ALERT courses.
Previous Experience
* Experience implementing change.
* Demonstrable achievements in improving patient care and experience.
* NHS experience working in an acute trust.
* Demonstrate involvement in link nurse or project work.
* Evidence of audit, research, or service improvement within the clinical area.
* Participation in Shared Decision Making Council.
Skills
* Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.
* Demonstrate computer literacy and use of IT skills.
* Demonstration of team working and ability to work effectively within a team.
* Extended roles of venepuncture, cannulation, IV drug administration.
* BLS/ALS trained.
* Competent in medicine management.
Knowledge
* Knowledge and understanding of clinical governance.
* Knowledge of NHS regulatory frameworks and standards.
* Knowledge and understanding of local improvement initiative opportunities.
* Demonstrate an ability to assess, plan, deliver, prioritise, and review in relation to patient care and experience.
