The Older Adult Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) in North & West Oxfordshire are looking to recruit enthusiastic Nurses and Occupational Therapists to join our dedicated and friendly teams.
We are seeking experienced Nurses an Occupational Therapists but would also welcome applications from newly qualified clinicians interested in the developmental opportunity to start at a Band 5 level with a view to progressing to a Band 6 once you have developed the necessary skills and competencies. As a band 5 you will be provided with increased supervision, training and additional support in managing complexity and risk. Older Adult mental health is an immensely rewarding area to work and offers fantastic opportunities to develop your nursing/OT skills further through supporting patients with a challenging mix of functional and organic illness as well as physical frailty. Ideally you will have experience of working in older adult mental health services, however, if you have transferable skills and are motivated to learn about our client group we would encourage you to apply.
Main duties of the job
You will need to be organised, flexible and committed to delivering the highest possible care to our client group. Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as good lT skills are essential. The means to access patients and travel across the locality is essential.
On a day to day, basis you will be carrying a caseload and working alongside the wider MDT, assessing and offering interventions to people over the age of 65 with complex mental health needs and/or dementia.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The Older Adult CMHT N&W Oxfordshire has 2 bases, in Witney and Banbury. The post being advertised is for the Witney site.
We are looking for full and part time staff. Core working hours are Monday-Friday 09:00-17:00. Out-of-hours support services are managed via a team rota. Staff will be expected to work on this rota which includes occasional weekend 09:00-17:00 shifts and evening shifts in the week between 12:00-20:00.
We have a culture of high standards of care and any successful applicant will need to be committed to maintaining this. The teams work closely with a wide range of internal and external partner’s including GPs, district nursing, therapy services, social care and physical and mental health inpatient providers. We work very closely with mental health social workers based within Oxfordshire County Council.

Essential criteria
12. To have experience of working within a multidisciplinary team

16. Registered Professional Qualification (RMN or OT)

19. All new starters have a 6 month probationary period. This, together with the induction process, aims to create a positive supportive working environment allowing new employees to learn key elements of their role over a reasonable timescale
20. Candidates not currently employed by the Trust who attend an interview for non-qualified Band 1-5 posts are required to undertake numeracy and literacy assessments.
